Welcome to Rising Tide Business Support! I'm Nellie, the founder and heart behind Rising Tide. I'm passionate about small business empowerment and I've dedicated my career to supporting entrepreneurs on their unique journeys.
Since 2017, I’ve worked with The Sassy Olive, where my role has grown alongside the business. Today, my work spans e-commerce, operations, bookkeeping, marketing, HR, inventory, financial analysis, and the systems and processes that keep a growing business moving. I developed The Sassy Olive’s e-commerce presence and continue to manage and evolve the website while working within the day-to-day operations behind it.
Prior to that, I ran a successful catering business for three years, immersing myself in the dynamic world of entrepreneurship. A key chapter in my journey also included six years as a chef at a casino, where I developed detailed training programs, managed cost percentages on a massive level, and navigated complex corporate human resource policies. Teaching cooking and food safety classes became a natural extension of my love for sharing knowledge and my passion for food.
Over the years, I’ve written business plans, employee handbooks, and training programs for multiple businesses. I’ve built websites, untangled bookkeeping, developed operational systems, worked through inventory challenges, analyzed financials, helped businesses prepare for growth, and learned a whole lot along the way. I hold a college degree in Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship, another degree in Food and Beverage Management, and a certificate in bookkeeping.
One of my favorite things about this work is that what I learn with one business never stays there. A problem I solve or a new skill I learn while working with one entrepreneur becomes knowledge I can bring to another. And what I learn from that business comes back with me too. I’ve known what my passion is for a long time, and I’ve spent my working life attaining the experiences that allow me to do exactly this.
I believe that the entrepreneurial journey is not just about moving from point A to point B; it's about thoroughly enjoying the entire ride. My mission at Rising Tide is to help you be present with the fact that you are where you are. Because where you are is pretty freakin' cool. I do this by automating the day-to-day tasks that might hinder your ability to fully enjoy what makes you and your business special.
